Every company in this category will tell you suspensions are rare. That is true and it is also beside the point. What matters to an owner is what happens in the week it does occur, and almost nobody publishes that.
The sequence
It does not usually begin with a suspension. It begins with a performance notification: a spike in late shipments, an inauthentic-item complaint, a listing flagged against a brand registry. The account stays open. Most owners never hear about this stage because it is handled the same day.
If the notification is not resolved, the platform moves to a funds hold before it moves to a suspension. Disbursements stop while the account stays live. This is the stage that surprises people, because the store appears to be trading normally and the money simply does not arrive.
A suspension is the third step. Listings come down, the storefront returns an error, and the platform asks for a plan of action. From this point the clock is measured in days, not weeks.
What can be appealed, and what cannot
Performance suspensions are appealable and usually recoverable: late shipment rates, order defect rates, customer complaints about condition. The plan of action has to state a root cause, a correction and a preventative measure, and it has to be specific. Generic appeals are rejected quickly.
Intellectual property complaints are different. If a rights holder has filed, the platform is not the decision maker and an appeal to the platform will not move. That case is resolved between you and the complainant, and the store stays down while it is.
Related-account suspensions are the hardest, because they are not about conduct on this store at all. They happen when the platform links your account to another one that has been actioned.
Three habits that prevent most of it
Watch seller performance daily rather than monthly. Almost every suspension we have seen began as a metric that had been drifting for three weeks.
Never list against a brand you cannot document a supply chain for. The margin on a grey-market unit is never worth the account.
Keep one product from becoming the whole store. A catalogue where one ASIN carries seventy percent of revenue is a catalogue where one complaint ends trading.
What we do about it
Account health sits with our team, not with the owner, and it is reviewed every working day. When a notification arrives it is answered that day. We cannot promise a store will never be suspended, and anyone who does is selling you something. We can tell you what we watch, how fast we respond, and what the plan is if it happens.
